Four suspects have been arrested in Nairobi over an alleged job recruitment scam in which a woman was defrauded of Sh600,000 by fraudsters allegedly posing as officers from the National Intelligence Service (NIS).
According to police, the complainant, Debra Intinyari Stephen, reported that between May 1 and May 15, 2026, she was conned the money by individuals who promised to secure her employment with the NIS.
The suspects reportedly issued her with a fake NIS calling letter to convince her that the recruitment was genuine.
Acting on the information yesterday,detectives from the central police, Nairobi launched an operation that led to the arrest of four suspects identified as Patrick Kibor, Moses Tarus Kibor, Humphrey Ngeiywo Kutuli and Abraham Kimeli.
Police believe the four are linked to the alleged fraud syndicate.
The suspects were booked at Central Police Station as detectives continue investigating the case.
Officers are also verifying documents recovered during the operation to establish the full extent of the alleged scam and determine whether more victims or accomplices are involved.
