DCP leader Rigathi Gachagua has expressed confidence that the opposition will remove President William Ruto from power through the ballot in the next General Election.

Speaking during a political rally in Matungu Constituency, Kakamega County, Gachagua said residents had embraced the opposition’s “Wantam Resolution” and were ready for political change.

“The people of Harambee in Matungu Constituency, Kakamega County, stand in strong support of our Wantam Resolution and are ready for a new dawn,” Gachagua stated.

He said the opposition coalition, which he referred to as the United Alternative Government, was committed to ushering in a new era of leadership focused on restoring sanity, accountability and development in government.

“As the United Alternative Government, we have a responsibility to usher in this new era and restore our government to its rightful path of sanity and progress,” he said.

Gachagua assured residents that the opposition would remain steadfast in pursuing its agenda and addressing the concerns of ordinary Kenyans if elected to power.

“We assure the people of Matungu that we will not let you down. Together, we will turn your dreams into reality,” he added.

The remarks come as opposition leaders continue to intensify their campaigns and grassroots mobilization efforts ahead of the 2027 general election with the “Wantam” slogan increasingly becoming a rallying call among government critics seeking political change through democratic means.
