A Jambojet aircraft operating from Mombasa to Nairobi was forced to make an emergency landing at Moi International Airport on Wednsday morning after developing a mechanical problem shortly after takeoff.
According to the Kenya Airports Police Unit, the aircraft departed Moi International Airport at approximately 7:25 a.m. bound for Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi when the crew detected a technical fault and opted to return to Mombasa as a precautionary safety measure.
The aircraft successfully diverted back and landed safely at the Airport without any incident.
Police confirmed that there were 49 passengers and four crew members on board at the time of the emergency.
