A 28 year old Kenya Power technician has died after falling from an electric pole while on duty at the Regional Police Training College (RPTC) in Garissa Township.
The deceased, identified as Brayan Ngugi, reportedly slipped and fell from the pole at about 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday while undertaking official duties.
He was rushed to Garissa Teaching and Referral Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The incident was reported to Iftin Police Station by Kenya Power security officer Ahmed Nuur Mohamed, accompanied by company staff member Jane Njoki.
Police officers from Iftin Police Station, detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Garissa, and Scenes of Crime personnel visited the scene and confirmed the incident.
The body was moved to the Garissa Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Police have launched investigations into the circumstances surrounding the fatal workplace accident, with the DCI Garissa leading the inquiry.
