A Kilifi County Government employee has been seriously injured after he was attacked and robbed by a suspect who later made a false claim that his manhood had mysteriously disappeared following a handshake with the victim.
The incident occurred on Monday at about 10:00 a.m. along the New Misufini Road near the Cattle Dip area.
According to a report, the Pwani University Security team responded to a distress call and rescued the victim, identified as Martin Charo, a resident of Misufini Estate, who was on his way to work.

Preliminary investigations established that the suspect, identified as Omar Thoya assaulted Charo and robbed him of his mobile phone.
After the attack, the suspect reportedly raised a false alarm, claiming that his manhood had magically disappeared after shaking hands with the victim, attracting public attention.
The university security officers verified the allegation and confirmed that the claim was false.
Charo sustained serious injuries during the attack and was rushed to Kilifi County Hospital for treatment.
Both the victim and the suspect were later escorted to Kilifi Police Station, where the suspect was booked.
He is facing charges of robbery with violence, giving false information relating to witchcraft, and assault.
Security officials at Pwani University said it has intensified patrols within and around the campus to enhance security and prevent similar incidents.
