Kisumu Police launch manhunt after minor rescued in defilement and incest case

Police in Kisumu West have launched investigations and a manhunt for a suspect linked to a defilement and incest incident reported at Holo Police Station.

According to the report, the case was reported by the headteacher of a local primary school in Lower Kadongo area after concerns emerged over the welfare of a 10 year old grade two pupil who had allegedly been subjected to repeated sexual abuse while living with her father.

The minor according to the father has been living with the father for two years after he separated with the mother who has since been married elsewhere.

Acting on a tip off, officers from Holo Police Station, accompanied by local administration officials and a community officer, conducted a rescue operation at a home in Newa sub location yesterday.

The suspect reportedly escaped upon noticing the officers, leaving the child behind.

The minor was rescued and taken to Kombewa Sub-County Hospital for medical examination and treatment before being discharged.

Police said investigations are ongoing as efforts to trace and arrest the suspect continue.
