A man aged 19 was injured after he was reportedly attacked by a wild animal suspected to be a lion in Jirikokole Village, Magarini,Kilifi County.
The incident occurred on Monday evening as the victim, identified as Emmanuel Baya Masha, was riding a motorcycle towards his home.
According to a report made at Marafa Police Station, Emmanuel sustained injuries to his left leg during the attack.
His father, Justus Masha, a resident of Jirikokole Village, reported the incident to police on where he stated that his injured son was rushed to Marafa Sub-County Hospital, where he received medical treatment and was later discharged in fair condition.
The Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) team from Malindi was notified and is handling the matter, including efforts to establish the animal involved and enhance the safety of residents in the affected area.
