Police have launched investigations after a pistol magazine loaded with 17 rounds of ammunition was recovered at a beach resort in Diani, Kwale County.
In a police report, the discovery was made at around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday during routine cleaning duties at Shamba La Sala Villa Resort.
The magazine was reportedly found lying on the ground by one of the resort’s workers, who immediately alerted the resort manager, Antony Kea, who subsequently reported the matter to police.
Officers from Diani Police Station, accompanied by detectives from the DCI and Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) personnel, visited the scene and documented the recovery.
The pistol magazine was collected and placed in safe custody pending further investigations to establish its origin and how it ended up within the resort premises.
