Media Attack:UDA SG Omar Accuses Top Media Houses of Political Bias Against Government

By Our Correspondent,Nairobi.

The ruling UDA Party through its Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan has accused sections of Kenya’s mainstream media of allegeldy abandoning professional journalism in favour of partisan politics aimed at undermining President William Ruto’s administration.

Speaking at Hustler Plaza, the party headquarters on Friday, Omar claimed that the media houses were publishing misleading narratives, sensational headlines and unverified claims that erode public trust and national cohesion.

He singled out media outlets linked to former President Uhuru Kenyatta and KANU Chairman Gideon Moi, alleging they had become tools for advancing partisan political interests.

Omar also criticised senior editors Chacha Mwita (Standard Group) and Linus Kaikai (Royal Media Services) accusing them of editorial bias against the government.

He maintained that while UDA supports media freedom, journalists should uphold accuracy, fairness and objectivity, adding that those engaging in political activism should leave the newsroom and seek elective office instead.
