Mystery Deepens as Pwani University Student Vanishes

A third year Pwani University student has been missing for more than two weeks, prompting a nationwide police search and attracting attention in the National Assembly.

The missing student, Tonny Kipturu Dambuki Lomany (Reg. No. EB01/PU/40674/23), was last seen at around 11:00 p.m. on June 11, 2026, at Tiba Bar and Restaurant (Tiba Club) in Kilifi Town.

According to information released by the University’s Security Department, Lomany had allegedly been consuming alcoholic beverages before leaving the premises.

His whereabouts have remained unknown since then.

The disappearance was officially reported at Kilifi Police Station on June 16, 2026.

The case was brought to the attention of the University Security Department on June 23, 2026, by Lawi Kiror Kiwanja before gaining national attention when Tiaty MP William Kamket raised the matter on the floor of the National Assembly.

Following the growing public concern,police have issued a National Missing Person Circular dated June 23, 2026, as investigators intensified efforts to trace the missing student.

Pwani University has since launched an internal inquiry, confirmed Lomany’s academic status, and says it is working closely with police while offering support to the student’s family.
