NIS Driver,Linked to Acid Attack on Ex Lover Found Dead in Suspected Suicide at Umoja Two Home

A driver attached to the National Intelligence Service (NIS) Nairobi Region was found dead inside his house in Umoja Two Estate, Nairobi, in a suspected death by suicide incident.

According to a police report, the incident was reported at Umoja 2 Patrol Base before officers from Buruburu Police Station visited the scene at Amani Court Estate.

The deceased, identified as Elivis Opiyo, was found lying on the floor of his house with no visible physical injuries.

Police said an empty plastic cup, a spoon and a small quantity of white substance wrapped in clear nylon paper, suspected to be poison, were recovered from the scene.

No suicide note was found.

Scenes of Crime personnel processed the scene before the body was moved to Mama Lucy Mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.

The motive behind the suspected suicide remains unknown, and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Buruburu have launched investigations.
