Police in Likoni,Mombasa County, have arrested a suspected notorious criminal linked to a series of violent robberies and phone snatching incidents within the area including near the ferry vicinity.
According to police reports from Likoni police station yesterday,undercover officers on foot patrol at Bomani area received reports from members of the public that the suspect, identified as Hakida Hamisi alias “Shilling,” had been spotted within the locality.
Acting swiftly on the information, the officers traced the suspect to his hideout where he was successfully arrested without ugly incident being witnessed
They added that the suspect has been on their radar over alleged involvement in multiple violent robbery cases and rampant phone snatching attacks that have troubled residents in Likoni and surrounding areas.
Following the arrest, the suspect was escorted to Likoni Police Station where he remains in custody pending further investigations and police action.
The case has been booked as “Person Under Investigation” (P.U.I), with detectives expected to widen investigations to establish possible links to other criminal activities in the region.
