Police Aircraft Carrying IG Kanja Makes Emergency Return to Wajir After Bird Strike

A police aircraft carrying senior Police officers including Inspector General Douglas Kanja and Deputy Inspector General Eliud Langat, was forced to return to Wajir Airport today after suffering a bird strike while airborne.

According to a report from Wajir Airport Police Station and seen by DNK-International, the aircraft operated by the National Police Service Air Wing, encountered the bird strike a few minutes to 12.30pm.

The aircraft which was flying the officers back to Nairobi after attending Madaraka day that was presided over by President William Ruto subsequently diverted back to Wajir Airport to allow for inspection and assessment of any possible damage resulting from the incident.

All passengers and crew aboard the aircraft escaped unhurt.
