Police:No SabaSaba protests will be allowed in the capital city

The National police service (NPS) through Nairobi Regional Police Commander Issa Mohamud has said that SabaSaba protests will not be allowed in the city as police have not been notified of any planned protests.


He assured the public that security remains stable, warning that any such gathering will be treated as illegal.
The police boss dismissed a purported notification letter to police from some activists claiming that demonstrators will be between 1 000-3000 in number.


“I urge Kenyans to continue with their normal activities.I give a warning that anyone who breaks the law will face legal action,”said Mohamud.


SabaSaba day was first held 36 years ago when activists,politicians and other Kenyans who triumphantly entered Kamukunji grounds amid police resistance in agitation for multiparty which was later on reinstated in 1992 by the late President Daniel Arap Moi.
