Sodomy suspect survive lynching in Malindi

A man aged 31 years old has survived a lynching by a mob in Malindi county.

The man identified as Thomas Baraka Kazungu is accused of sodomising an eight year old boy in Kijiwetanga area.

Rachel Kea the child’s mother made a report at Malindi police station yesterday that her child was sexually assaulted by a man he knew.

The family of the victim was so agitated that and went on a manhunt for the suspect at his home resulting in a confrontation between the two opposing parties.

Police officers who were on patrol responded to the incident and managed to arrest the suspect who was on the verge of being lynched by the irate mob.

Police in their report indicated that during the melee one person identified as John Jembe was cut on the head by a sharp object but was treated and discharged from Malindi sub county hospital.
