A street family dispute ended in tragedy on Sunday evening after an unidentified man was fatally stabbed near the Frontanela Roundabout in Mombasa.
According to a police report filed at Central Police Station, officers responded to a telephone call from a member of the public reporting that a man was lying injured at the roundabout
A team led by the OCS accompanied by the duty officer and DCI detectives rushed to the scene where preliminary investigations established that two unidentified men both believed to be members of the street family community, had engaged in a fight following a disagreement whose cause remains unknown.
During the altercation, one of the men allegedly produced a knife and repeatedly stabbed the other in the neck before fleeing the scene.
The victim, who was found lying in a pool of blood with severe injuries, was rushed to Coast General Teaching and Referral Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to the hospital mortuary, where it awaits identification and a post-mortem examination.
