The plea taking for suspended Nairobi County Executive Committee (CEC) Member Patrick Analo Akivanga, who is facing an abuse of office charge, has been postponed to July 20, 2026 after his lawyers told the court that he had not been summoned to appear.
Appearing before Milimani Anti-Corruption Chief Magistrate Caroline Nyaguthi, Analo’s lawyers, led by Danstan Omari and Shadrack Wambui, argued that their client had not been served with a court summons and was therefore unaware of the proceedings.
The defence successfully applied for the plea taking to be deferred and requested the court to ensure Analo is properly summoned before the next appearance.
Meanwhile, Analo’s intended co-accused Abdishakur Muse Mohammed, Yussuf Mohammed Yussuf, Daniel Alphonse Odhiambo and Gideon Chege Gakundi appeared before the court and denied several charges, including manslaughter, making false documents without authority and uttering false documents relating to the National Construction Authority (NCA).
The prosecution alleges that on January 2, 2026, the four unlawfully caused the deaths of Ali Adan Galogalo Abdi and Hassan Huka in South C Estate, Lang’ata Sub-county, Nairobi County.
Abdishakur Muse Mohammed and Yussuf Mohammed Yussuf also face additional charges of making false documents without authority and uttering false documents.
The four pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
The court released each accused on a bond of Sh5 million, with an alternative cash bail of Sh2 million.
Chief Magistrate Nyaguthi also directed the prosecution to supply the defence with all witness statements and documentary evidence it intends to rely on during the trial before the matter proceeds to hearing.
