Uchaguzi 2027/315 Days: Defiant Maina Njenga Begins Mount Kenya Tour

By Our Correspondent,Murang’a.

Former Mungiki leader Maina Njenga, popularly known as “Ndovu,” has begun a tour of Mount Kenya counties and parts of the Rift Valley as he seeks to gauge his political popularity ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Njenga has reportedly rejected advice from some of his key advisers to abandon his bid for the Laikipia Senate seat, which he has unsuccessfully contested in previous elections, and instead seek the Laikipia West or Dagoretti South parliamentary seat.

Last week, Njenga toured Murang’a County, with his handlers indicating that he could be planning a major political move ahead of the 2027 elections.

One of his associates said Njenga was “up for something big” politically but declined to disclose details, saying they were not authorised to speak to the press.

The former Mungiki leader is expected to continue his regional tours as he assesses his support base and political options.
