Uchaguzi 2027/329 days:Gachagua tells Ruto to prepare handover notes as he warns 2027 “fate is sealed”

By Our Reporter,Kisumu.

DCP leader and former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who is on a tour of the US has stepped up his attacks on President William Ruto, declaring that Kenyans are determined to vote him out in the 2027 General Election.

In a strongly worded statement, Gachagua dismissed Ruto’s recent references to retired President Uhuru Kenyatta, arguing that Uhuru was not the President’s main opponent in the coming election.

Gachagua said Ruto was elected in 2022 despite Uhuru’s opposition because the former President had not sufficiently convinced a majority of Kenyans that Ruto was unfit to lead the country.

“Today, you have proven to me and the whole country that President Uhuru was right,” Gachagua said, adding that Uhuru no longer had a role in convincing Kenyans to vote against Ruto.

He described Ruto’s opponents as ordinary Kenyans, including workers, young people, business owners, patients, parents and students, whom he accused the administration of burdening through taxation, the cost of living and other government policies.

Gachagua further cited the recent political events in Ol Kalou and Embu-Nembure as signs of what he claimed would be a difficult campaign period for the President ahead of 2027.

He said the Opposition would not require financial inducements to mobilise voters, arguing that Kenyans had already made up their minds on Ruto’s political fate.

According to Gachagua, the remaining task was for opposition leaders to agree on a single presidential candidate who would face Ruto in 2027.

He said consultations on the issue were ongoing and that Kenyans would soon be informed of the candidate who would challenge Ruto.

Gachagua also accused the President of using money to attract crowds to his political meetings, particularly in Nyanza, and challenged him to begin preparing his handover notes.
“Your fate is sealed,” Gachagua declared.
