A 22 year-old woman has died under unclear circumstances after falling from the sixth floor of an apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi, in an incident that is now under police investigation.
Police at Kileleshwa Police Station have indicated that the incident occurred in the early hours of today at Kaisa Garden Apartments along Laikipia Road.
The woman, identified as Consolata Githinji, reportedly fell from Block C, House No. 601, and landed on the third basement floor, sustaining fatal injuries.
Police officers, together with DCI personnel, visited the scene and confirmed the death.
The body had visible injuries on the head, ribs, and hands.
Preliminary findings indicate that the deceased had spent the night in an Airbnb apartment within the premises in the company of a man identified as Tony Odhiambo Lwale, 33.
The man has since been taken into custody as a person of interest as detectives continue with investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The scene was processed by crime scene investigators, and the body was moved to the Nairobi County Funeral Home, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted.
