56 Arrested Over Kihika, Mutai Supporters Clash in Kuresoi

Police in Nakuru county have arrested 56 suspects and launched investigations into violent disturbances that erupted during a public event in Kuresoi North, Nakuru County, pitting supporters of Governor Susan Kihika and local MP Alfred Mutai.

The event, which was attended by the governor, senior government officials, county leaders, and members of the public, descended into chaos as rival groups clashed, leaving several people injured and causing damage to a number of vehicles.

According to police, the suspects were arrested during a security operation conducted after the violence.

Officers also recovered several exhibits believed to have been used in the disturbances as they launched investigations to establish the circumstances that led to the clashes and to identify those responsible for organizing and participating in the violence.
