Kenya Medical Training College CEO Dr. Kelly Oluoch has clarified that the institution provides a wide range of programmes beyond nursing and clinical medicine.
Speaking to the press today, Dr. Oluoch revealed that KMTC offers 126 specialised courses across various fields in healthcare.

“These courses span clinical, diagnostic, rehabilitative, preventive, and emerging areas of healthcare, including medical laboratory sciences, pharmacy, and public health information, among many others,” he said.
He noted that KMTC remains a leading institution in Kenya, with over 85 percent of the country’s middle-level healthcare workforce being its graduates.
Dr. Oluoch added that, in response to growing global healthcare demand, KMTC has integrated foreign language training into its programmes.
He said that this initiative aims to equip students with communication skills needed to access job opportunities abroad.
According to him, KMTC graduates have secured employment across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and other regions worldwide.

The CEO further disclosed that 4,084 graduates obtained employment in 2025, both locally and internationally,demonstrating the college’s success in producing globally competitive healthcare professionals.
“KMTC continues to expand access to quality medical training across the country. The college currently has 92 campuses and six satellite centres, enabling more students to access training closer to home,” he said.
Dr. Oluoch also confirmed that the March 2026 intake is ongoing, with successful applicants expected to join the institution in May.
“During the application process, applicants can choose up to two courses and select their preferred campus from the available 92 campuses nationwide,” he explained.
On preparedness for emergencies and disease outbreaks, Dr. Oluoch said that lessons from COVID-19 have led KMTC to update its curriculum.
New additions he said, include training in outbreak response, emergency care, mental health, and antimicrobial resistance, alongside expanded specialised programmes such as critical care and the integration of modern technology into training.
