God is a God of consistency. In Joshua 4:23, we see a powerful “callback” to the Red Sea. For the older generation, the Red Sea was their miracle; for the new generation, the Jordan was theirs. God wanted them to see that the same power that rescued their fathers was still active for them.
He didn’t just start the journey at the Red Sea; He finished it at the Jordan. Often, we worry that God’s grace might “run out” or that His past miracles were a one-time event.
This verse reminds us that His track record is unbroken. If He opened the door to get you started, He is faithful enough to open the door that lets you in.
Write down one past “miracle” or answered prayer from your life. When you face a new obstacle today, look at that note and remind yourself: “The God who did it then will do it again.
