A fire broke out at Alliance Boys High School in Kikuyu,Kiambu county early today and destroyed 200 mattresses stored in a school facility that had previously been used as a dormitory.
According to a report made at Kikuyu Police Station,the incident was reported at about 3:00 a.m. by the school principal, David Kamau.
Police officers led by the DCIO Kikuyu, the Administration Police Service Commander, and the Station Police Commander responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigations established that the fire, whose cause has not yet been determined, completely consumed the mattresses that were being stored in the building.
Firefighters from Kiambu County responded promptly and successfully contained and extinguished the blaze, preventing further damage.
Scene of Crime personnel from Kiambu processed the area as investigators commenced inquiries into the cause of the incident.
No injuries or fatalities were reported but
Police disclosed that preliminary findings indicated that 11 students had earlier mentioned plans for a possible strike.
The students have since been escorted to Kikuyu Police Station for interrogation as detectives seek to establish whether there is any connection between the alleged plans and the fire incident.
