A police officer attached to Nairobi Terminus Police Station was rushed to hospital on Tuesday evening after being bitten by a dog near the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) entrance in Syokimau.
The incident occurred in the evening as Corporal Francis Sendu was walking from Gateway Mall towards the Syokimau entrance gate to the SGR station.
According to a police report, the officer encountered three men who were chasing several dogs when one of the animals suddenly leapt at him and bit him on the left ankle.
The officer sustained injuries to his left leg and was immediately taken to hospital for medical examination and treatment.
Police said he was in stable condition.
