DNK International Dorcas Njenga of the Jubilee Party is the latest aspirant to declare her candidature for the Trans Nzoia gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election.
The seat is currently held by Governor George Natembeya.
Speaking to DNK-International by phone,Mary said she believes she stands a better chance of defeating Natembeya, citing her track record of working with different communities and sectors across the county, including widows and vulnerable groups.
Former Cabinet Secretary for Health Susan Nakhumicha has also expressed interest in contesting the gubernatorial seat on a UDA ticket.
The entry of Njenga and Nakhumicha is expected to intensify the political competition in Trans Nzoia as the county heads towards the 2027 General Election.
