BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY:Jeremiah 48:10

By Pastor Vincent Roy Agoya

Jeremiah 48:10-“Cursed be he that doeth the work of the Lord deceitfully.”

In the original context, this was a call to judgment against Moab, but the spiritual principle is timeless. To do God’s work “deceitfully” means to do it with slackness, negligence, or a divided heart.

God isn’t interested in your “leftover” energy or your “autopilot” service. He is a Great King, and He deserves our best craftsmanship. Whether you are leading a corporation, raising children, or serving in a local ministry, doing the work “negligently” is an affront to the One who gave His all at Calvary.

When we give God half-hearted effort, we miss the miracle of His partnership. Real impact isn’t found in the magnitude of the task, but in the intensity of our faithfulness.

Stop settling for “good enough” in your spiritual life. Today, identify one area of your prayer life, your professional integrity, or your service to others—where you’ve been coasting.

Commit to excellence. Repent of the “slack hand” and re-engage with your whole heart. If it is worth doing for the Lord, it is worth doing with everything you’ve got. Don’t just do the work; honour the Master of the work.
