DNK International Ted Turner,the founder of CNN,the world’s first 24 hour news network, has died at 87.
Turner Enterprises confirmed his passing on Wednesday near Tallahassee, Florida, after health struggles including Lewy body dementia diagnosed in 2018.
He revolutionised TV by debuting CNN in 1980, alongside TBS and TNT, building a cable empire sold to Time Warner for $7.3 billion in 1996.
A philanthropist and environmentalist, he chaired the UN Foundation and was once married to Jane Fonda.
