Court proceedings have been held in Mombasa in a case involving an estimated Sh8.2 billion consignment of methamphetamine that was seized in the Indian Ocean in October 2025.
The hearing was conducted at Mombasa Cement, where the exhibits linked to the case had been secured as the court considered the matter.
Tight security was maintained around the exhibits as the proceedings continued, with the case awaiting the court’s ruling.
The seizure of the large consignment had attracted significant attention due to the estimated street value of the drugs and the circumstances surrounding their interception in the Indian Ocean.
