An elderly woman was killed and another one critically injured in Emusali Village,Luanda, Vihiga County, after a swarm of bees attacked them within their homestead.
The incident occurred yesterday evening when the bees, which had reportedly camped within the victims’ compound, turned aggressive and attacked the two.
The victims were identified as Rebeka Ochieli, 50, and Jael Lualende, 90.
Both were rushed to Great Lakes Medical Center in Mwibona Village for emergency treatment.
However, Ochieli succumbed while undergoing treatment, while Lualende remains in critical condition.
Police officers who visited the scene and the hospital confirmed that Ochieli’s body has been transferred to Masaba Mission Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
