A passenger suspected to be intoxicated was removed from a Safarilink flight at Kisumu Airport on Sunday evening after causing a disturbance shortly before takeoff.

According to a police report filed at the Kenya Airports Police Unit at Kisumu Airport Police Station, the incident occurred at around 8:00 p.m. on a Safarilink aircraft bound for Wilson Airport, carrying 36 passengers.

The plane had already begun taxiing to the runway when a male passenger, identified as Eubert Munywere Espira, allegedly became unruly, raising concern among the crew.

In response, the pilots halted the departure and returned the aircraft to the apron as a safety precaution. Security officers then boarded the plane and escorted the passenger off.

The flight later departed for Wilson Airport without further disruption.
