Four suspected robbers were arrested by police in Nairobi’s Pangani area on Monday after attacking and robbing a man of his mobile phone along Juja Road.
According to police, the victim, Mukhtar Abdirahman Jamme, was walking from Ushirika towards Third Street at around 4:00 p.m. when he was confronted by four men near the Amanna area.
One of the suspects, who was reportedly armed with a homemade gun, allegedly struck him on the head before the group stole his Samsung A05 mobile phone valued at Sh14,000.
The victim immediately alerted police officers who were on patrol along Juja Road.
Police officers pursued the suspects towards the Gaza area along the Mathare River, where all four were arrested.
A search conducted on the suspects led to the recovery of the stolen Samsung A05 mobile phone and the homemade firearm believed to have been used during the robbery.
The suspects were escorted to Pangani Police Station, where they were booked and remain in custody pending arraignment in court.
