Grandson on the Run After Attacking Grandfather Over Motorcycle Demand in Kiambu

Police in Kiambu County have launched a manhunt for a 22 year old man accused of seriously assaulting his grandfather after the elderly man allegedly failed to buy him a motorcycle.

The incident was reported at Uthiru Police Station on Monday.

According to police, Nyumba Kumi member Silvester Nduati reported that he received a call from a neighbour, Wangari Macharia, informing him that her grandson, identified as Joseph Macharia, had attacked his grandfather, Charles Chui Macharia.

Police said the suspect allegedly struck the elderly man in the face with a sharp object during the altercation.

The victim was rushed to St. Peter’s Hospital in Muthiga,Kinoo before being referred to Kenyatta National Hospital, where he was admitted to the High Dependency Unit (HDU) for specialised treatment.

The suspect reportedly fled immediately after the incident and remains at large.

Detectives and officers from Uthiru Police Station have intensified efforts to trace and arrest him.
