The discovery follows days of investigations into her mysterious disappearance.
According to police reports, detectives were able to trace crucial leads through forensic analysis of the victim’s phone records.
This led them to a facility in the Milimani area, where the prime suspect,believed to be the victim’s former boyfriend was employed.
A search conducted at the premises resulted in the recovery of the victim’s mobile phone, an Oppo handset, which had been concealed in a septic tank.
Upon interrogation, the suspect reportedly confessed to involvement in the killing, alleging that he acted alongside accomplices who are yet to be identified.
The suspect later guided officers from the DCI accompanied by teams from Maseno Police Station and Riat Police Post, to the forest where the victim’s body had been hidden.
Authorities stated that the body, found in a decomposing state, bore multiple stab wounds believed to have been inflicted using a sharp object.
Investigators also suspect that the victim may have been subjected to severe abuse including gang rape before her death.
The crime scene was processed and documented, and the body was moved to JOORTH Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination is expected to provide further insight into the circumstances surrounding her death as the tracking of other suspects progresses on.
