Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has claimed that there’s a plot to “Silense” former President Uhuru Kenyatta by individuals accusing him of backing the opposition.
Speaking during a media engagement with Kameme TV and Kameme FM of Mediamax Network Ltd,a company associated with Kenyatta family,Kalonzo condemned sustained verbal attacks against the former Head of State, insisting Uhuru has a constitutional right to freedom of expression and should continue enjoying privileges accorded to retired presidents.
The Azimio la Umoja co-principal also accused the Kenya Kwanza administration of withholding funds meant for political parties through the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties, terming the move a threat to democracy.
On opposition politics, Kalonzo stressed that unity within the United Alternative Government remains critical, warning that any leader abandoning the coalition would be betraying Kenyans.
He also addressed coalition-building efforts, delays in issuance of Kenyan IDs and passports, the state of the nation, as well as Kenya’s international relations and diplomacy.
