Kidero:United Opposition Lacks Capacity to Defeat Ruto

By Shitsili Kulabi,Kakamega.

Former Nairobi Governor Evans Odhiambo Kidero says the United Opposition lacks the capacity to dethrone President William Ruto in the next year’s General Election.

Dr. Kidero and Kakamega Deputy Governor Ayub Savula said the Opposition was too disfrenchised to win the Presidency.

The duo said Ruto’s opponents had failed to convince Kenyans about what they would do differently if they ascended to the State House.

“The so-called united opposition does not have the political muscle to wrestle the Presidency from William Samoei Ruto. They can be equated to the narrative of rats and the cat,” Kidero said.

The two urged members of the Luhya and Luo communities to unite and jointly vote for the re-election of President Ruto and eventually produce his successor come 2032.

“We as Luhyas, Luos and Kalenjins have co-existed peacefully even before independence and should work on a lasting formula to keep the Presidency for years to come. That is the only way we can guarantee meaningful development in our region,” Savula said.

The two leaders were addressing mourners during the burial of one Fabian Musebe Atila at his home in Shisalachi Village, Ikolomani Constituency, Kakamega County.

The deceased was a long-serving domestic worker of the Kidero family.

The first Nairobi County Chief promised to make a political comeback in 2027 when he will vie for the Homa Bay gubernatorial seat.

On his part, Savula defended the development track record of Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa and called for his re-election in the next year’s polls.
