Police in Kathiani,Machakos County, have launched investigations following the recovery of a suspected human body part in Kavalo Village, Kauti Sublocation.
According to a report recorded at Kathiani Police Station yesterday,the incident was reported by Assistant Chief Hellen Zakayo after residents discovered what appeared to be a human leg at the compound of Benjamin Kikuvi in Kavalo Village.
A team of police officers led by the OCS and their DCI counterparts visited the scene and confirmed the presence of the suspected human body part lying on the ground.
The area was secured and processed by investigators, who immediately commenced inquiries to establish the identity of the deceased and determine the circumstances under which the body part ended up at the scene.
The recovered body part was removed to Kathiani Level IV Hospital Mortuary pending further investigations and possible identification.
