A 35 year old man has been found dead inside his bedroom in a suspected suicide incident at Bonyancha village,Gucha South,Kisii County.
The incident was reported yesterday by Bombure Sub-location Assistant Chief Salim Nyota Asugo, who informed officers at Bonyancha Police Post about it.
DCI officers from Gucha South together with police from Tabaka Police Station visited the scene and found the body of Richard Mochemo Segero lying on the floor of his bedroom with blood oozing from his mouth and an electric wire hanging from the roof.
Family members told investigators that the deceased had allegedly expressed suicidal intentions a day earlier after reportedly being distressed by marital problems.
His brother, Aloise Ayora Nyabwanga, said the deceased informed relatives on May 13 that he intended to take his own life after his wife allegedly left him with their two children and relocated to an unknown place.
The family reportedly attempted to counsel and calm him down.
On the morning of the incident, the deceased’s mother reportedly became concerned after finding his bedroom locked from inside.
She asked the children, who slept in a different room within the same house, to help call him, but he did not respond.
Upon checking the room, they found him lying motionless on the floor.
Police processed and documented the scene and confirmed that no suicide note was recovered.
The body, which had a slight head injury, was moved to Tabaka Mission Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.
