A family in Busia County is searching for a man who disappeared after being released from police custody in Ugunja, Siaya County.
According to a police report, David Wekesa reported that his son, Eliud Obulo, went missing on July 17 after travelling from Busia to Rang’ala to deliver stationery to Rang’ala Boys High School.
Police said Obulo, who was riding a red Honda motorcycle registration KMGK 023P, was stopped by traffic officers in Ugunja for allegedly riding without a driving licence, insurance cover and a reflector jacket.
His motorcycle was detained at Ugunja Police Station, while he was issued with a notice to appear in court on Monday, July before being released on a free bond.
However, he never returned home, prompting his family to report him missing after efforts to trace him proved unsuccessful.
Police have circulated the missing person’s details to all stations and appealed to anyone with information on his whereabouts to report to Ugunja Police Station.
DCI officers in Ugunja have launched investigations into the disappearance.
Anyone with information that could assist in locating Obulo is urged to contact the nearest police station or Ugunja Police Station immediately.
