Police in at Bumala police station,Busia County have arrested two suspects linked to the murder of a 25 year old man whose death had initially been suspected to be a hit and- run road accident.
According to a police report filed at the police station today, detectives from the DCI Butula Sub-County conducted an operation today morning and apprehended the suspects within Bumala town.
The suspects were identified as Joshua Oduori Wanga, 26, and Jasper Bwire, 28, both residents of the area.
The two were arrested in connection with the death of Alfred Oduor, 25, whose body was discovered along the Busia–Kisumu road after he was allegedly assaulted at Doladen Lounge in Bumala.
Police investigations indicate that the deceased had been attacked before his body was dumped along the roadside in what investigators initially suspected to be a road traffic hit-and-run incident.
The matter had earlier been reported at Bumala Police Station.
Police now believe the incident was a murder disguised as an accident following fresh investigations by DCI officers.
The two suspects are expected to face murder charges contrary to Section 203 as read with Section 204 of the Penal Code, with investigations continuing under the DCI Butula office.
