Two police officers among them an OCS who had been detained in connection with a shooting incident at Baniyas Club in Eldoret have been released on free bond pending further investigations.
According to a follow up report from Police, Chief Inspector John Ruto OCS Villa Police Station in Kibra, Nairobi and Constable Peter Kiprotich Ruto of Kapsaos Police Post under Baharini Police Station were freed from custody on Saturday evening.
The officers had been detained following the shooting incident reported on May 8, 2026 at Baniyas Club.
Police said the two were released to allow them to undergo further medical check ups after sustaining injuries during the incident.
They have been ordered to report back on May 11, 2026 before the DCIO Turbo as investigations continue.
