Sololo Residents Stage Demonstrations Over Alleged Abduction of Elders

Transport along the busy Moyale–Marsabit highway has been paralysed after angry residents in Sololo staged demonstrations demanding the immediate release of two alleged abducted elders, identified as Mzee Guracha Dambala and former chief Dabasa Dambi.

Witnesses say protesters barricaded sections of the road, bringing movement to a standstill as tension gripped the area.

Motorists and travellers have been advised not to risk using the route until calm is restored.

The demonstrators are demanding answers over the whereabouts of the two elders, with locals chanting “Aki yetu ” as they called for justice and urgent intervention from security agencies.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement on the incident as anxiety continues to rise in the area.
