A police officer attached to the Trans Nzoia County woman representative’s escort team Lilian Siyoi Walubengo sustained injuries after an official vehicle accidentally ran over her foot at Makunga area, within K.M.T.I College compound.
The incident occurred on Sunday at around 4pm and was reported to police on Monday.
According to a police report, Police Constable Gladys Cherotich Mutai was on official duty at the venue while escorting the Woman representative to her official motor vehicle, a Toyota Prado driven by Richard Otieno.
The driver accidentally drove over the officer’s right foot, causing an ankle dislocation and soft tissue injuries.
She was rushed to Reale Hospital in Kitale, where she was treated and discharged in stable condition.
Police visited the scene and took the necessary action.
