Police Officer Injured After Bottle Attack by Colleague in Marsabit Bar

A police officer is recovering in hospital after he was attacked by a fellow officer during a confrontation at a bar in Laisamis, Marsabit County.
According to a police report, Corporal Abdikalif Omar Ibrahim was having drinks at Caros Pub on Saturday when Police Constable Edwin Munanga entered the premises and accused him of reporting him to senior officers at Laisamis Police Station.

The argument reportedly turned violent after the constable attacked the corporal while he was seated, striking him with a bottle.

The assault left the victim with deep cuts to his left ear and the lower side of his neck, causing heavy bleeding.

The injured officer was rushed to Laisamis Sub-County Referral Hospital, where he is receiving treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.

Police have launched investigations into the incident.
