Prosecution close hearing of Rex Maasai Inquest

By John Asango,Nairobi.

The prosecution has closed the hearing of an inquest seeking to establish who shot and killed Rex Maasai in 2024.

Deputy director of public prosecution Jalson Makori told trial magistrate Geofrey Onsarigo that they have called all the witnesses numbering 30 who have given their evidence and and have been cross examined by parties in the proceedings.

Rex Maasai was shot on June 20, 2024 within central business district (CBD) in Nairobi county.

The lawyer representing the family of Maasai, Mwangi Chege applied to the Court to have typed proceedings to enable parties file their submissions so as to give the Court the opportunity to deliver it’s judgement.

The matter will be mentioned on September 24 to confirm whether the proceedings have been typed.
