Retired Church of God Pastor Rev. Rael Okweya Omunyolo was on Wednesday laid to rest at her family residence in Bubiru, Kisa Central,Khwisero, Kakamega County.
The funeral brought together family members, relatives, friends, church leaders and mourners who gathered to celebrate the life and legacy of the late pastor who died on July 26 aged 89.
Among those who attended the burial was leading Luyia Gospel artist Sukuma Bin Ongaro, a cousin of the deceased who also entertained mourners.
Pastor Rael is survived by her widower, Simeon Omunyolo, four children and more than 60 grandchildren.
Family members and mourners remembered her for her commitment to the church, family and community during her lifetime.
Her burial marked the final journey for the retired pastor, whose life touched many people through her Christian ministry and family leadership.
