Police in Githunguri, Kiambu County, have launched investigations into an abduction incident involving a 9 year old boy by a shamba boy.
In a report made yesterday at Githunguri Police Station, the incident was reported by Florence Njeri Ng’ang’a, a resident of Kajai area.
Florence stated that yesterday morning,she left her home to attend a family gathering in Kipipiri, leaving behind her son, Leon Ng’ang’a under the care of her ailing mother, Elizabeth Wambui Githere, and her daughter, Elizabeth Wambui Ng’ang’a.
Fifty minutes later according to Florence,the grandmother received a phone call from the family’s shamba boy, identified as Magire Stephen Mungai, who claimed that he had abducted the minor.
The suspect reportedly demanded a ransom of Sh150,000 for the child’s release.
Police, and DCI officers have commenced investigations, with efforts underway to locate the suspect and rescue the child.
