Spotlight on GBV:Woman robbed,raped,partner assaulted

Police in Limuru, Kiambu County, are investigating an incident where a woman was robbed and raped while with his business partners along the railway line in Kabuku.

According to a police report, ANT 28, and SMW 20, reported that at around 6:30pm on Wednesday they were walking from Limuru town towards Kabuku along the railway line when they encountered two unidentified men near an underpass at Kabuku.

The suspects allegedly posed as hikers and offered to direct the two to a watchman who could provide information about the hiking area.

As a train passed nearby, the suspects allegedly confronted the victims and assaulted the lady after he resisted their demands.

The assailants reportedly stole an iPhone 14 Pro valued at Sh120,000 and a Vivo Y29 valued at Sh25,000 before raping the woman.

The two victims were taken to Tigoni Level IV Hospital, where they received treatment and were reported to be in stable condition.

Police said efforts to identify and arrest the suspects were ongoing, with the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Limuru handling the case.
