Where are you, MCA Nzau? Malaa residents demand answers over KBC-Misuuni road

By Our Correspondent, Malaa.

Malaa residents have questioned the whereabouts of Matungulu West MCA in Machakos County,Lucky Raphael Nzau over the poor state of the KBC-Misuuni-Church road, even as efforts to improve the road started following a report by Daily News Kenya-International on Saturday.

The residents of India Village in the area had raised concerns over the excavation of murram from a local dam, alleging that the material was being used to repair roads elsewhere while their own road remained in a deplorable condition.

Following the publication of the report, trucks were seen on the road today, with murram being spread on some sections, a development that residents welcomed.

However, the residents said the intervention should cover the entire road, which they estimate stretches between seven and eight kilometres.

They questioned why their MCA had remained silent despite repeated concerns over the state of the road, saying they expected him to speak out and push for a comprehensive solution.

The residents said partial repairs would not address their long standing challenges, particularly during the rainy season when the road becomes difficult to use.

They urged the relevant authorities to ensure that the murraming exercise covers the full stretch of the KBC-Misuuni-Church road and called on MCA Nzau to explain his position on the matter.
