A woman aged 26 years old is fighting for her life after reportedly falling from the third floor of an apartment in Nairobi’s Kilimani area during a party under unclear circumstances.
According to police, the incident was reported after Nairobi Hospital received a distress call indicating that an unresponsive woman had been rushed to the facility by three people, who claimed she had fallen from a building.
Officers from Kilimani Police Station responded and found the victim, identified as Rachael Wangui, admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in critical condition.
Preliminary investigations established that Wangui had been attending a party at Suite Life Apartments along Dennis Pritt Road.
Police believe she fell through a window from the third floor while in a room with her 32 year-old boyfriend, Victor Mwangi, under circumstances that remain unclear.
Investigators who visited the scene recovered bottles of alcoholic drinks and used glasses from the apartment, indicating that a party had been taking place before the incident.
Police have taken three persons of interest into custody to assist with investigations.
They include Victor Mwangi, Ann Mwangi and Kelvin Kamau.
Detectives also believe several other people who had attended the party fled before officers arrived.
Investigations are ongoing to establish the circumstances that led to the incident.
